Dhari Devi Temple
About
Dhari Devi is a revered Siddh Peeth beside the Alaknanda river on the highway between Srinagar and Rudraprayag. The goddess is regarded as the guardian of the region and of Char Dham pilgrims. Tradition holds that the upper half of the idol is here and the lower half is worshipped at Kalimath. Devotees say the idol appears to change from a girl to a woman to an old woman through the day.
How to reach
The temple is on the Srinagar Garhwal to Rudraprayag road at Kalyasaur, a short drive from Srinagar. The shrine now stands on a raised platform over the river and is reached by a footbridge.
