Badrinath Temple
About
Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Badrinarayan and is one of the Char Dham pilgrimages. The colourful temple stands on the bank of the Alaknanda beneath the Neelkanth peak. Hot springs at Tapt Kund are used for a bath before darshan.
How to reach
Badrinath is connected by road from Rishikesh via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Chamoli and Joshimath. It is a long mountain drive of roughly 300 km, so most travellers break the journey.
Season
The temple opens around late April or May and closes in November. In winter worship moves to Joshimath and Pandukeshwar.
